This is fairly new technology on the market, about 3 years old. Here is how it works, there is a pair of receiver and transmitter. 

Innovation of Wireless Kinetic Technology
The Quinetic wireless switch has a built-in micro energy generator. The action of pressing the switch, generates enough kinetic energy to create and transmit a radio signal and switch on/off via a receiver (wireless controller) the lamp or other loads this solves an age old problem of having to install switch wiring over the past 130 years since the invention of the light bulb

    Option 1 : For new installs - The receiver is installed somewhere in your loft or under skirt boards somewhere out of reach, this receiver needs both L and N to work, but it operates like a switch at the same time. With this receiver you can pair up to 7 different switches, and they will all work as multiway switches (every switch can switch ON or OFF independently) here is the kicker, the switches can be normal switch on your wall (wireless), or a KEY FOB that you can have on your key ring for example, and you can switch on or off outside lights from your car without getting out in the rain or you can have the switch next to your bed, and you can move it on YOUR OWN anywhere you fancy as it is remote control switch ( NOT Wi-Fi ) no wires no batteries it works with radio waves generated from the actual press of the switch. The switch IS SUITABLE FOR BATHROOMS as there is no wires also it is rated to IP67 basically you can shower with it and take it underwater in your bath if you fancy doing so, and it will be working. The range of the transmitter  is about 30 meters for indoor and about 100 meters for outdoor.

   Option 2 : For existing switches - This option works exactly the same as the previous one with the difference that the receiver now looks like a switch, and it replaces the original switch on the wall you have in your room , working only with L, no N is needed here, and the transmitter switch (2nd switch) can be placed anywhere you fancy and moved after, as you just need to unstick it from the wall and stick it anywhere you want (if wall switch) or be kept in your pocket (if FOB switch) or you can have both options at the same time paired to the same device up to 7 different switches which can be from different types or same.

    Doorbells are available with the same technology, the actual bell goes in to a plug socket anywhere you can hear it, and it is a receiver, and the transmitter (the actual doorbell you press ) goes anywhere you want outside the house. They work exactly the same way , with radio waves, as described above. 

Total price for this service is 99£ per room with everything included in the charge (master and slave switch , labour) !!!
